About the event
Join Sister to Sister International's Day of Recognition, Education & Action 2024, where we will discuss STEAM careers as well as health disparities affecting black and brown women and girls. This yearly event is an opportunity to review and discuss data that highlights the necessary changes for improving the lives of black and brown girls. From health disparities to career choices, the STSI Day of Action on April 20, 2024, will provide attendees with insights into the discussions and actions behind the scenes that are being taken by two phenomenal women who are working on critical issues. The day will kick off with a morning keynote by Asha Castleberry, a US Army Major and distinguished national security and foreign affairs expert with over a decade of experience as a Middle East Policy Expert in the public and private sectors. The afternoon will be wrap up with a Fire-Side Chat, with Dr. Uche Blackstock, the NY Times best-selling author of Legacy. She is a physician and thought leader on bias and racism in healthcare. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and hear from these inspiring women. Moreover, a signed copy of the book LEGACY by Dr. Uché Blackstock will be available for registrants, along with recognition of community partners and a spotlight on STSI’s 4 pillars.
